How to Stop API Usage at Your Included Token Limit

The Stop at my included tokens setting helps prevent API overage charges by stopping API usage once you reach the number of tokens included in your plan.

This setting is turned off by default. While it is off, API calls can continue beyond your included token allowance and may incur overage charges.

Turn On the Token Limit

  1. Open Account Settings.

  2. Select the API tab.

  3. Find the API usage card.

  4. Locate Stop at my included tokens at the bottom of the card.

  5. Turn on the toggle.

Once enabled, API usage will stop when all tokens included in your plan have been used.

Turning this setting on prevents additional API token overage. API-powered apps, scripts, automations, and AI integrations may stop working when the included token limit is reached.

What Happens When the Setting Is Off?

When Stop at my included tokens is turned off:

  • API calls can continue after you use all included tokens.

  • Additional usage is charged at your plan’s overage rate.

  • The account’s usage guardrail still applies.

The API page displays your plan’s overage rate. It also notes that calls beyond your included tokens may continue up to a 250% guardrail.

What Happens When the Setting Is On?

When Stop at my included tokens is turned on:

  • API usage stops when you reach your plan’s included token allowance.

  • Additional API token overage does not accrue.

  • API access can resume when your token allowance renews or your plan allowance changes.

Understanding the API Usage Card

The API usage card shows:

Included token usage

You can see how many included tokens you have used and how many remain.

For example:

1,175 of 5,000 included tokens

The progress bar provides a visual summary of your current usage.

Overage

The Overage section shows:

  • Your current overage cost

  • The number of overage tokens used

  • Your plan’s per-token overage rate

Reset date

The top-right corner of the API usage card shows when your included token allowance resets.

Understanding the API Plan Card

The Your API Plan card displays:

  • Your current API plan

  • The monthly plan price

  • The number of included tokens

  • The applicable overage rate

  • Your current utilization percentage

  • The number of days until renewal

  • Your renewal date

Select See Other API Plans to review other available API plan options.

Important Considerations

The token limit applies to API usage connected to Land Insights, including:

  • Custom applications using the REST API

  • Scripts and backend workflows

  • AI agents and supported assistants

  • Other integrations that pull Land Insights data

When the limit is reached, these connections may stop receiving data until API access becomes available again.
