You can upgrade your Land Insights API plan directly from Account Settings. The API page also shows your current plan, token allowance, usage, overage charges, and renewal date.
How to change your API plan
1. Open Account Settings
Log in to your Land Insights account and open Account Settings.
2. Select the API tab
From the Settings page, click API.
Your API dashboard displays:
Your current API plan
Included and remaining tokens
Current billing-period usage
Overage charges
Renewal date
3. View the available API plans
In the Your API Plan section, click See Other API Plans.
4. Choose your new plan
Review the available plans in the Choose your plan window. Each option shows its monthly price, included tokens, and overage rate.

Pricing and plan allowances may change. The plan-selection window in your account will always show the current options.
5. Confirm your selection
Click Upgrade beneath the plan you want, then follow the on-screen billing prompts to complete the change.
Your existing subscription is marked Current, making it easy to identify your active plan.
Free vs. paid: direct REST access
The Free plan does not include direct REST API access with an API key.
Free: MCP server access only. This is ideal for using Land Insights with Claude, ChatGPT, or another supported AI assistant.
Starter and above: Full REST API access using your own
lipk_API key, plus continued access to the MCP server.
If you send a direct REST request while using the Free plan, the API will return:
402 tier_upgrade_required
Upgrade to the Starter plan or higher to unlock direct REST access. MCP server access continues to work on the Free plan.
How overage works
Your included tokens can be used during each billing period at no additional cost. What happens after you use your included allowance depends on your plan.
Free, Starter, Growth, and Scale
Usage beyond your included token allowance is billed at the plan’s overage rate:
Free, Starter, and Growth: 2¢ per token
Scale: 1¢ per token
As a safeguard against unexpected spending, access pauses when usage reaches 250% of your monthly token allowance. Access resumes at the beginning of the next billing period.
Enterprise and Enterprise Max
Enterprise and Enterprise Max plans do not include overage billing.
Access pauses as soon as all included tokens have been used and resumes at the beginning of the next billing period. There is no per-token charge beyond the included allowance.
You will receive email alerts as you approach your usage limit. You can upgrade at any time for a larger token allowance, and upgrades take effect immediately.
Keep an eye on your tokens
You can monitor token usage from the API tab in Settings.
The usage section shows:
Total tokens used during the current billing period
Remaining included tokens
Overage usage and charges
Usage by day, endpoint, and access mode
Your billing-period reset date
You can also track usage through the available API usage endpoints.
Choosing the right plan
After you make API calls during a billing cycle, Land Insights may display a usage projection to show where your token usage is headed and help identify the plan that best fits your needs.
When choosing a plan, consider your expected monthly token usage, whether you need direct REST API access, the number of applications or AI assistants using your account, and whether you prefer overage billing or a fixed token limit.
